Work has started on the passenger carriage during our lockdown period. We have given it a coat of primer, dark grey and then Maxitrack red to match the Planet loco.

First we gave the new wood a good rub down after filling any small holes.

The first coat of primer was applied and then we sanded it again.

Next a couple of coats of dark grey undercoat in readyness for the final top coat of red.

The final coat of red completed.

We purchased a foam seat that's 6cm thick and seems to be comfortable. It's in a sort of sleeve that apparently meant to make it last longer. We still looking for the vinyl to cover the seat. We plan to place the seat on a thin ply base and staple the vinyl round and under it. Now it's time to put the buffers on....
