Contrary to belief, most Bonsai are outdoor plants as they grow much faster and therefore will heed results of reshaping, pruning and wiring much quicker.

Outdoors Bonsai can be taken in from time to time, but must be taken back out again after a few days. The selection on outdoor Bonsai is much wider  than indoor species.
